Housebuilder’s Selection Of New Homes In Devon

Posted 16 December 2021 by Keith Osborne

Cavanna Homes has several live sites in Devon, with an impressive selection of high-quality home types for sale...

Cavanna Homes was founded in 1923 and has grown in size and reputation at building new homes at prime locations across the South West of England – and it currently has several live sites in Devon.

This housebuilder’s portfolio has a real variety of traditional and contemporary styles to reflect the different locations in which it builds, and the wish to appeal to as wide a range of buyers as possible, based on budget, living requirements and visual appeal.

With each home coming complete with high-quality specification throughout, ‘early bird’ buyers can also have the choice of a number of options and upgrades. This includes things like kitchen units and appliances, bathroom tiling and fittings, flooring in various rooms or throughout, lighting and electrical points, built-in wardrobes and home security.

We take a look at current Cavanna Homes developments in Devon:

Broadleigh Park

Just a mile outside Tavistock. Broadleigh Park will, when complete, comprise 148 new homes, with an impressive range of two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom house types, with design inspired by the local vernacular and featuring a variety of red brick, crisp render or natural slate finishes. A highlight for sale right now is the double-fronted ‘Corndon’ on Plot 96. On the ground floor of this detached house is a kitchen/dining room with utility room, a triple-aspect lounge with French doors to the garden. Three of the four bedrooms are doubles, bedroom one comes with an en suite and the others share the family bathroom. This home is priced at £460,000.

Tavistock comes with a fascinating history and has grown to a town with an impressive range of big-name and independent shops, useful amenities, schools, places to eat and drink, sports clubs, leisure venues and well-connected railway station. With Dartmoor and the Tamar Valley AONB on the doorstep and the coast under an hour away, it’s also perfect for lovers of the great outdoors.

Elm Park

‘Haytor’‘Haytor’ house type

Cavanna @ Elm Park is situated in Matford, just three miles from the centre of Exeter, with prices currently ranging from £345,000 to £385,000 for three- and four-bedroom options. The one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom homes are coming in different styles of finish, depending on which area of the site they are located. There are also 12 self-build plots. One of the popular Cavanna designs available now is the ‘Haytor’. This semi-detached house type, priced from £345,000, has a kitchen/dining room, lounge, cloakroom and understairs storage on the ground floor while upstairs are two double bedrooms (one with en suite), a single bedroom, family bathroom and two very useful off-landing storage cupboards.

The area around this development has numerous green spaces and parks, and the paths along the River Exe are a 15-minute walk away. The city has exceptional shops, amenities, leisure and entertainment venues, excellent road and rail connections and is sought-after for one of the UK’s best universities.

Equinox I

Prices currently start at £335,000 for a selection of three- and four-bedroom house types at Equinox I, which is a brand new community taking shape on the eastern outskirts of Exeter. Serving the residents of a diverse range of one- to four-bedroom homes coming here will be a fully equipped sports field, allotments, Park and Ride services to the centre of Exeter, plus new local shops and businesses, along with a planned primary school. There will also be a 15-acre country park.

The ‘Plym’ is a three-storey home priced at £380,000. The ground floor of this townhouse has a kitchen/dining room with French doors to the garden, a cloakroom and, at the front of the property a room that could function as a separate dining room or perhaps a home office. The first floor has a lounge, bathroom and two bedrooms; and the top floor has the large main bedroom, complete with en suite and dressing area with wardrobes, and a study/fourth bedroom.

Equinox II

‘Tavy’‘Tavy’ house type

Complementing Equinox I is Equinox II, a further range of 81 homes, including 20 affordable homes. There’s going to be an array of two-, three- and four-bedroom terraced, semi-detached and detached properties. The current range of homes for sale range from £345,000 to £500,000 and one of them is the ‘Tavy’, a detached house priced at £400,000. At the front of this property are the family room and a cloakroom, and at the rear, a bright kitchen/dining room with French doors to the garden. Upstairs are the family bathroom and four bedrooms, with the principal one benefitting from an en suite shower room.

Wolborough Hill

Cavanna @ Wolborough Hill is an exclusive development of just 26 homes with designs in a mix of crisp white and soft ivory render, natural grey slate and dark grey tile. In addition to brand new homes – including some exceptional five-bedroom houses with detached or integral double garage – there’s Bacchante House, a Victorian renovation to be available as four townhouses with three, four or five bedrooms. Prices are on application.

The development has an elevated position just a few minutes from the centre of Newton Abbot’s array of shops and amenities, its railway station and much-loved racecourse, and it’s an easy drive to Dartmoor and some of Devon’s favourite coastal towns, such as Torquay, Paignton and Teignmouth.
