Plas Elyrch is situated in the heart of an utterly charming market town on the Welsh borders, this Retirement Living property offers homeowners both local amenities and the stunning landscapes of the Brecon Beacons on the doorstep.

With just 48 apartments comprising of 25 one and 23 two bedrooms, we only have a few remaining for sale or rent, this development will reflect the tight-knit community feel of the local town. Many of the apartments will have their own balconies and a homely communal lounge is at the development’s heart, where homeowners can socialise over a cup of tea or coffee. What’s more, with beautifully landscaped gardens, the development will offer a peaceful space to enjoy a spot of fresh air on a sunny day, along with the stunning roof terrace with 360 degree views of Abergavenny and the surrounding beautiful countryside.

The development’s House Manager will take care of its day-to-day running and will organise social events for homeowners to take part in, if they wish. There’ll be a 24-hour call system, in case of emergencies, as well as a camera entry system, ensuring you’ll feel completely safe and secure in your new home. Plus, with lifts to all floors, you won’t have any problems getting around.

The development site is superbly located. Its just a 3-minute walk from Abergavenny High Street, offering everything you could possibly need, from Waitrose and other supermarkets, shops and eateries to transport (both the railway and bus stations are just a mile from the site) and health facilities (there’s a doctor’s surgery right next door). This Welsh borders location also means you’ll have easy access to London, Bristol, Cardiff and the Midlands, if you’re looking to travel further afield, with the onsite car parking to make journeys even easier.

Local Area

Abergavenny is a truly delightful market town on the Welsh borders. With artsy boutiques, galleries, cafes, tea rooms, gift shops and book stores galore, as well as an annual writing festival and Wales` largest annual food festival, a bustling yet friendly atmosphere characterises this charming town.

Its historic market lies at the heart of the town. Here, as well as a general market held several days a week, flea markets, craft fairs, antiques fairs and artisan markets are held regularly.

In the town you`ll also find the small yet beautiful Abergavenny Castle. In the grounds of this Norman ruin is a delightful museum telling the story of this market town, from its prehistory to the modern day.

Abergavenny is also a walker`s paradise. The Brecon Beacons serve as a dramatic backdrop to the town, offering 520 square miles of gentle ambling walks, mountain trails and limestone caves, interspersed with quaint Welsh towns, country pubs and Michelin-star restaurants. The Brecon Beacons are also home to South Wales` highest mountain, Pen y Fan. What`s more, to the north of the town lie the Black Mountains. These grassy red sandstone hills dappled with heather and intersected by meandering rivers offer excellent opportunities for walkers, cyclists, mountain bikers and horse riders alike.

And in the nearby town of Blaenafon is the Big Pit National Coal Museum. Visit this fascinating award-winning museum for a taster of what being a miner here was like. Take the underground tour, descending 300 feet below the surface, to follow in the footsteps of miners past and learn more about the coal industry in Wales.
